I am a clinical psychologist. The difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist is basically that a psychiatrist is trained primarily in the biological aspects of the body and the brain and secondarily in the psychological aspects of feeling, thinking and learning, while a psychologist is trained primarily in the psychological aspects of feeling, thinking and learning and secondarily in the biological aspects of the body and the brain. Though some psychologists -- currently very few -- are extending their education into the biological and may prescribe medications some day, most of us are not experts in medication. This page is provided with the basic goal of providing what appears to me as a lay person to be interesting resources for medications available on the internet.
